What Is Franchising?

Simply stated, franchising is a business partnership through which goods and/or services are distributed. By way of a written agreement, the franchisor lends its name, trademarks and business system, through training and continuous support and guidance, to the Franchisee, who in turn, agrees to follow the franchisor's policies and procedures and [usually] to pay an initial franchise fee and an ongoing royalty fee.
